Indomie History

Indomie History : A Legacy of Flavor and Innovation

It all began in 1958 when instant noodles were first introduced in Japan, captivating the world with their convenience and irresistible taste.

This love for quick and delicious meals soon traveled across borders, finding a new home in Indonesia, where instant noodles became a beloved everyday meal.

In 1972, Indomie, produced by Indofood brought its first iconic flavor Indomie, Chicken to life. But the journey didn’t stop there.

A decade later, in 1982, Indomie transformed the instant noodle market with the launch of Mi Goreng –Fried Noodles – , the first-ever dry noodles variant inspired by Indonesia’s traditional fried noodle dish. This innovation wasn’t just a success , it became a global sensation.

Today, Indomie is a household name, enjoyed in over 100 countries, from the streets of Egypt to the kitchens of Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and beyond. With an annual production capacity of 19 billion packs, Indomie continues to delight millions with its unmatched variety of flavors, including classics like Indomie Chicken and bold choices like Indomie Mi Goreng -Fried Noodles-

At the heart of Indomie’s success lies a legacy built on hard work, innovation, and perseverance.

As a pioneer in the instant noodle industry, we remain committed to delivering quality, flavor, and convenience to families around the globe.

Indomie Egypt History

Indomie Egypt History : A Journey of Growth and Flavor

The story of Indomie in Egypt began in 1997, when TransWorld for Import and Export brought the world-famous noodles to Egyptian families. From the first bite, Indomie became an instant favorite, loved for its quick preparation, affordability, and delicious flavors that fit perfectly into busy lifestyles.

As more families embraced Indomie, it became clear that local production was the next step.

In 2000, Salem Wozran Abu El-Atta (SAWATA) Company was founded, and by 2009, Egypt’s first Indomie factory opened in Badr City.

This milestone ensured that every pack was crafted closer to home, tailored to the tastes of Egyptian consumers.

By 2011, growing demand led to the addition of a second production line, opening doors to exports across Africa, Europe, and the Arab region

In 2020, we took another step forward with the launch of the state-of-the-art RNF factory in Plant Robbiki Industrial Zone, 10th of Ramadan City, designed to meet local and international needs.

Today, Indomie Egypt operates from 18 branches nationwide, with a dedicated fleet ensuring that even the most remote areas receive their favorite noodles.

Behind the scenes, over 1,500 Egyptian employees work passionately to bring smiles to tables across the country.
